Triple Berry Power Smoothie


Berries, especially blueberries, are amongst the most antioxidant-packed fruits you can eat. Think about it, high-antioxidant foods are often associated with the deep colors they attain. So in this case, the blacker the berry, the sweeter and healthier the juice! When it comes to absorbing these nutrients, research has shown that incorporating fats will maximize the body's ability in absorption.

Coupling a smoothie with some type of whole food nut or seed is the way to go.

In this smoothie, all the bases are covered, antioxidants, omegas, and more: using flax, hemp seed, and walnuts provide an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, which most Americans need much more of!

And you wouldn't know it by the look or taste, but there is raw spinach in the mix, too.

This is a powerful breakfast that will keep you fueled for hours.

Very Berry Power Smoothie Ingredients:

1 cup triple berry (blueberry, raspberry, blackberry) mix

1 banana

1/2 cup raw spinach (or more, as you like!)

1/2 cup whole coconut milk

1 tsp hemp seed

1/4 tsp of flax seed

pieced walnuts on top to taste

Instructions:

1. blend berry mix, banana, spinach, and coconut milk using a high-powered blender.

2. serve in a cup and top with seeds/nuts. (Even better- blend some hemp or flax inside with your smoothie as well!)

3. Enjoy!
